AEMO Very Fast FCAS Instruments for Compliance Metering and Reporting
These measurement instruments are compliant with AEMO Very Fast FCAS Applications for Compliance Metering, Monitoring and Reporting. This includes the NEO Messtechnik PQA 8000 Series & PQM 200 Series, Multi-functional Recorders with Power Quality Analyzer, Digital Fault Recorder (DFR), and Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU).
NEO Messtechnik instruments meet AEMO specifications for Frequency Control Ancillary Services (FCAS) and Market Ancillary Service Specification (MASS) as per Section 5.3 of the specification document.
- Sampling rate of Local Frequency Measurements ≤50 ms
- Sampling rate of Generation Amount and Load Amount Measurements ≤50 ms
- Measurement Range of Power Flow Measurements ≤50 ms
- Local Frequency Measurement Range with Frequency Intrinsic Uncertainty of <0.01 Hz and Frequency Resolution of <0.0025 Hz
- Recording Period for Power & System Frequency Measurements ≥5 s before FDT and ≥60 s after it. This setting is adjustable by user as required.
It is also possible to generate automatic reports and customizable templates according to the AEMO reporting requirements, as per Section 5.5 of the MASS document.
Very Fast FCAS Compliant Metering Instruments
Multi-functional recorders from NEO Messtechnik have Power Quality Analyzer, Digital Fault Recorder (DFR), and Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) functionality.
- Meets all requirements for AEMO Very Fast FCAS.
- Class A++ Exceeds all standards, with 1 MHz Sampling Rate, equivalent to 20,000 samples/cycle at 50 Hz for both Voltage and Current Channels.
- PMU with Total Vector Error (TVE) of 0.01% which is 100 times better than the IEC/IEEE Standards
- Industry Leading Accuracy of 0.05 % for Voltage & Current with Angle Error of just 0.003 °
