GlobeCore TOR-4 Online Transformer Monitoring and Dry-Out System
GlobeCore TOR-4 Online Transformer Monitoring and Dry-Out System
Advantages of TOR-4
Key Features of TOR-4
GlobeCore technology assesses transformer status through sensor-based measurements.
- connection to a transformer of any type and age;
- the process of connection takes less than an hour
- the sorbent captures water regardless of its temperature and form
- the machine dries the oil without heating and does not require constant operator control
- the machine can be installed temporarily or permanently;
a robust housing that reliably protects the system - once saturated with water, the sorbent can be reactivated using the BRPS (BRZ) unit and reused for oil drying (Sold Separately).
Hardware Overview
All in one enclosure, Small Footprint, IP54, Easy Lockable Access. Placed next to the transformer and bolted to the foundation. Also available without Enclosure.
Principle of Operation
- Equipped with zeolite sorbent adsorbers to absorb water molecules from treated liquid.
- Adsorbers can be dismantled and replaced or sorbent reactivated with BRPS (BRZ) zeolite regeneration unit.
- Connects to transformer via rigid or flexible pipework.
- Utilizes a pump to circulate oil through filter and adsorbers for moisture removal, then back to transformer.
- Monitored by a logic controller displaying oil moisture content before/after drying, filter pressure, and injection pump operation.
- Transformer leakage protection via monitored oil level; controller maintains required level.
- Automatic valves cut off oil flow in case of leakage, stopping the TOR-4 system.
Oil Drying and Filtration Mode
The TOR-4 system filters and dries transformer oil using a sequential process involving a filter and adsorbers, ensuring the transformer remains dry and functional without the need for heating or staff presence.
- Oil is drawn from the transformer's bottom.
- It passes through a filter with a 10-micron fineness.
- It then goes through three adsorbers, each containing 15 kg of aluminosilicate sorbent.
- The filter removes mechanical impurities; the sorbent absorbs and retains water.
- Processed oil is returned to the transformer's top, maintaining functionality without heating, at a rate of 30 liters per hour.
- The TOR-4 unit switches to monitoring mode once oil parameters normalize.
- The system also helps remove water from the paper insulation, keeping the transformer dry throughout its service life.
Ambient Conditions of Operation
- Ambient temperature: (+5 to +40) °C.
- Atmospheric pressure: 84 to 106.7 kPa (630 to 800 mm Hg).
- Elevation above sea level: Up to 2000 m.
- Location: In open air under a canopy.
- Usage environment: Clean Area with ventilation.
Easy Installation within Minutes
The TOR-5 is connected with hoses or pipes. This connection can be done by one person, using quick-coupling connections. The operations takes only a few minutes.
